Does one plan cover every language?
Yes. A plan (Light, Medium or Heavy) belongs to you, not to a language: it covers every language you learn in the app. The day's AI questions, lessons and voices are counted for your phone across all its languages, so switching languages neither adds more nor starts the day again. The day changes at midnight UTC (9:00 in Japan).
Getting a plan back on a new phone
Open Menu › Settings › Restore purchase, signed in to the same Apple Account (iPhone) or Google account (Android) you bought it with. Chat tickets belong to the phone they were bought on: on iPhone they stay if you reinstall the app, but they don't move to a new phone.
Switching or adding a language
Tap the language on the home screen, or open Menu › Settings › Language you're learning. Pick one you've started to switch to it, or choose "Add a language" and set your level and goal. Each language keeps its own goal, way of speaking, lessons, words and practice records; your buddy, your plan, your tickets and your outfits stay the same.
Choosing a way of speaking (region)
Open Menu › Settings › Way of speaking. Your buddy, the friends, the lessons and the AI voice then speak that way, and looking a word up tells you how it differs by region. Spanish, English, Chinese and French ask you as you start them; you can change it at any time.
- Spanish: from Spain, Mexican & Latin American, or Rioplatense (Argentina)
- English: American, British or Australian
- Chinese: Standard Mandarin, Northern (Beijing, the Northeast), Southern (Shanghai, Guangdong), or Taiwan (traditional characters)
- French: from France or Quebec
- German: from Germany, Austrian, or Swiss Standard German
- Japanese: Standard Japanese or the Kansai dialect
- Korean: Seoul (standard), the Gyeongsang dialect (Busan) or the Jeolla dialect
- Italian has one standard, with friends from Rome, Naples and Milan to chat with.
Dirty mode
Dirty mode explains the insults and swearing you meet in games, comments and shows: what they mean, how strong they are and how to answer. It is for adults only and is off by default. To turn it on, open Menu › Settings › Dirty mode. On iPhone with iOS 26 or later, the app first asks iOS for your age range; otherwise it asks whether you are 18 or over. If you don't see the switch, the app knows or was told that you are under 18, or it is not offered where you got the app (it is not in the App Store of mainland China). See Safety and AI.
Reporting an answer
If an answer seems wrong, misleading, inappropriate or upsetting, tap the flag beside it (in a lesson, use the menu at the top), choose what's wrong, add a note if you like, and tap Send. We read every report. You can also write to us with a screenshot.
Taking a break
Busy week? Open Menu › Settings › Take a break and choose 3 days, a week or two weeks. There are no reminders while you rest, and your buddy goes on a little trip and comes back when you do. To come back sooner, choose "End the break". Nothing is lost.

The AI is busy, or everyone together has used a lot today. Please try again a little later.
Today's questions are used up
On the free plan you have one AI question a day, and up to two more by watching an ad. The plans give you more each day, and chat tickets add more when today's run out. Lessons, practice, your buddy and your records are free on every plan.
Cancelling a plan
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. On iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions. On Android: the Play Store › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
